My First Template

Okay, so don't judge--this is my first try ever at making a template and sharing it. And I learned a few things along the way so our next experience should be a little better and less confusing. Let me explain: below is the template. Drag and drop your papers and photos where you want them and then use the clipping mask function to get them to fit. (If you don't understand templates, I would HIGHLY recommend that you watch Jessica Sprague's free tutorial.)

I created this template before I created my layout. I think in the future it should be the other way around, but live and learn.

You'll notice that I flipped the template 90 degrees to the right for my layout (because my Focal Photo was horizontal.) Also, I removed the circle embellishment and added several of my own touches (extra text boxes for journaling, a date tab, and a giant circle embellishment.) Obviously, you're going to want to do the same kinds of individual touches to your layout.

The template is in psd. format, so all of it can be changed, arranged, edited however you like it. Hide layers, move layers, etc. Hopefully my very simple and sorry attempt at a template will give you a place to start. And hopefully my next attempt will be bigger and better!
