Hooray for Me!

I submitted the Scraplifted layout below to the CK & Me editorial people.  And...drumroll please...I was published on their blog!  Woo Hoo!  I know it isn't as cool as being published in their actual magazine, but hey?  Baby steps ;)

I'm a Scraplifter ;)

The iPhone photos are terrible, but they are what they are: our way of keeping in touch :)

Retro Heaven

Of all the layouts from this class, this one is my hands-down favorite.  I mean, come on!  Do you see that little car and camper trailer?!  I had a blast with this one, and I think my pictures work perfectly here.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again: LOVE.

Lesson 9

At first I wasn't sure what pictures I could use for this layout.  The actual example in our lesson was titled "Jump" but I wasn't sure if I was going to go that direction or come up with my own idea.  Then I remembered how much Victoria loves to jump rope, and it was the perfect solution!  We took some pictures in the driveway this afternoon, and voila!  I love Photoshop :)

Oh So Perfect!

I have been wanting to document Ella's obsession with her "guys" for a while, but hadn't really come up with anything wonderful.  So when I saw what Lesson 10 of Digi: In Deeper had in store, I squealed out loud!  Seriously, have you seen anything cuter?!  LOVE.

So Pretty!

This is the kind of page that I can never achieve on my own.  I have LOVED having this class show me how to put pages together that I would never do by myself.  How fun to learn new things ;)

Shabby & Chic

I don't know that this frilly and romantic style suits me, but I do like the prettiness of it all.  I used some pictures from a while back.  I remember thinking, "All is right in the world," when I took it because Olivia is missing the two bottom teeth that are the only ones Jett has :)  Perfect balance!

From Scratch Assignment

We were supposed to create a layout in either the Graphic or Freestyle genres.  I was trying for freestyle, but without the guidance from Jessica Sprague I'm not sure if I succeeded.  Don't get me wrong, I like what I made (isn't it fun?), but I'm not sure that I captured the ideas behind a freestyle approach.  Who knows...maybe I'm over-thinking it.  Maybe freestyle is simply that.  Free.

Supplies Used: Cosmo Cricet's Haunted Kit, Echo Park's Tricks & Treats (boo flag, bat oval, dotty star, tiny spider), Katie Pertiet's Vintage Photo Frames No. 16 (3S), Crystal Wilkerson's Scallopped Brush, Romantic Disasters Brush Set, XBFences Brush Set, Stapel (Katie Pertiet), Fonts: Rawengulk, Tiza, and Violation.  And I made those tiny blue dots by myself :)

Freestyle: My new Love.

I'm such an anal retentive type that it's not easy for me to design something without a lot of obvious structure.  Which is why I have truly enjoyed being guided through a different artistic approach.  It's not so scary to step outside the box when someone is holding your hand ;)  I love love LOVE the quirky freedom of this approach, and I hope I can recreate it on my own in the future!

I am so stinkin' fancy now, I even made that striped paper all by myself!  And that skyline?  Pretty cool if you ask me.

Lesson 5 - More Freestyle!

Again, at first glance I was a little leery.  But the more I dive into this Freestyle, the more I enjoy it.  It seems like a really useful design aesthetic for those random photos that you don't want to forget, but don't really need a whole lot of explaining.  Case in point: the Tulip Festival.  (On a side note, I hope to go again this spring!)

On another side note, I am getting so fancy in Photoshop!  I love learning all the things you can do in there!

Some More Course Work.

I made this layout to practice what I learned in lesson two.  I definitely have the technique down pat, but there's something about the layout that I don't like...I hate it when there's something wrong with the design and I can't put my finger on it.

Lesson 3 :)  I like the little film strip of the boys being stupid.  Typical.

This was Lesson 4, Freestyle.  This is definitely a stretch for me (style-wise), but I really had a good time making it.  I may crank out a few more freestyle layouts in the future ;)  It's kind of fun to be messy!

Assignment 2

When I first saw the preview to our assignment, I thought, "I don't think I'm going to like how this is going to turn out."  It didn't look like me from the start (and the gym shoes?  What was she thinking?!)  But the more I got into it, the more I fell in love.  And yes, I even adore the gym shoes.  They make sense with the theme.  Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised (and my mind was blown wide open as usual.)  I LOVE these classes!

Day 1: Digi In Deeper

I LOVE the classes at Jessica Sprague.  This isn't my usual style, but I had a lot of fun learning all the tricks to make this graphic layout!

It's All About ME!

I get the vibe that most people have a hard time scrapbooking about themselves.  Not me.  I have plenty of pages dedicated to myself.  I guess I'm a little self-absorbed.  Enjoy my birthday layout anyway!

Fundraiser Crop Night!

My kids' elementary school organized a scrapbook crop night to raise money for the PTO.  If I wasn't a convert to digital scrapbooking before, I am now!  Watching all those women cart in box after box of supplies made me EXTRA happy about my decision to go all digi.  I walked in with my laptop and a mouse :)

I took the easy way out and used a couple of quick pages, and I totally scraplifted a layout from CK Magazine.  But the Handle With Care one was all me :)  Happy weekend! xoxo

Yes, Jeni's is THAT good.

I celebrated a friend's birthday by forcing her to eat Jeni's ice cream for breakfast.  I know, I'm the best friend ever!

And it's my New Year's Resolution to scrap more.  I really do love it, so I have dedicated Fridays to the wonderful passtime ;)  Happy 2011!
